Monochrome: A Composite Bench Redefining Urban Spaces

The inspiration behind Monochrome stemmed from the exploration of new areas of creative use of composite parts. The result is a product that is not only visually appealing but also practical. Its stackable design saves space and allows for easy transportation and storage, making it a versatile addition to any setting.

What sets Monochrome apart from other designs is its enhanced design achieved using minimal materials. It comes in a variety of colors, offering a touch of vibrancy to any space it graces. Its unique properties extend beyond aesthetics, with its robust design making it a durable choice for public spaces.

Monochrome is crafted from stainless steel and extruded composite seating, exuding elegance and strength simultaneously. The armrest, a single piece made of stainless steel, assembles to the L-shaped surface with screws. When both armrests come together, the composite surfaces are fixed in place, showcasing the thoughtfulness behind its design.

The bench measures 2200 mm x 800 mm x 720 mm, a size that balances comfort and space efficiency. The Monochrome bench requires less labor due to its easy installation process, further emphasizing its practicality. The design was completed in 2017 in Ankara, Turkey, by the Designnobis Team.

The design process involved overcoming the challenge of producing the armrest and the legs as a single solid piece. However, the team's dedication to creating a product that is portable, easy to install, and resistant to outdoor conditions led to the successful realization of Monochrome. This design was awarded Silver in A' Street and City Furniture Design Award in 2017, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
